18th JOINT GOVERNING BODY MEETING OF NDC AND DSCSC ON 02 DECEMBER

2021 Dhaka, 02 December 2021: The 18th Joint Governing Body Meeting of National Defence College (NDC) and Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) was held on 02 December 2021 at Ganabhaban. The Hon’ble Prime Minister of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina graced the occasion as the President of the Joint Governing Body. Advisor to the Hon’ble Prime Minister (Security Affairs), Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Naval Staff, PSO AFD, Senior Secretaries/ Secretaries of the Ministry of Public Administration, Ministry of Finance (Finance Division), Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education (Secondary and Higher Education Division) including Vice Chancellors of Dhaka, Jahangirnagar, National University and Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) were present in the meeting.

In her inaugural address, the Prime Minister appreciated the role of the Armed Forces in the present socio-economic development of Bangladesh and also mentioned the constant support of her government for the development and modernization of the Armed Forces of Bangladesh. In her address, the Prime Minister appreciated the activities of NDC and DSCSC for their special contribution in enhancing the skills of the members of the Armed Forces through conversant and high quality education and training programmes.

Hon’ble Prime Minister expressed her deep satisfaction over the progress and development of both the prestigious military institutions of the country. She thanked all the members of the governing body for their active participation and valuable contribution for the development and progress of both the institutions. Hon’ble Prime Minister instructed the college authorities to be in constant pursuit for updating Course Curriculum/Modules to meet our future security and development needs and to contribute in Armed Forces to attain objectives of Roadmap 2041 to become a developed country. She also reiterated on the need of a knowledge based organization and emphasized on the importance of vibrant civil-military relationship.

Following the inaugural speech of Honorable Chairman, the Commandants of NDC and DSCSC presented the summary of different activities and progress of NDC and DSCSC respectively. The Governing Body reviewed the progress of previous decisions and discussed on issues in the agenda of the current meeting. At the end of the meeting, both the Commandants of NDC and DSCSC expressed their profound gratitude to the Hon’ble Prime Minister for her kind presence and for rendering unconditional support and guidance for development of both the institutions.
