AIRCREW OF BANGLADESH AIR FORCE DEPARTED FOR UK TO FERRY C-130J TRANSPORT AIRCRAFT FOR BAF

Dhaka May 10: With the direction and relentless effort of Honourable Prime Minister of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, the present Government has taken various steps to modernize Bangladesh Air Force. In this development process, Government has taken steps to induct 05 US origin C-130J aircraft from United Kingdom through Government to Government agreement. Following this, the process of inducting C-130J is being continued to BAF through the procurement and maintenance agreement with Royal Air Force and Marshal Aerospace and Defence Group of UK respectively. On Sunday (10-05-2020), 15 Aircrew of Bangladesh Air Force departed for UK through a chartered flight of Bangladesh Biman arranged by BAF Welfare Trust to ferry the second C-130J aircraft from UK to Bangladesh. The mission was led by Group Captain Santanu Chowdhury, GD (P) of Bangladesh Air Force. Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, BBP, OSP, ndu, psc provided necessary guidance to carry out the mission.

BAF welfare Trust also made necessary arrangement for those people in Bangladesh who wish to go to UK in this coronavirus situation through this chartered flight of Bangladesh Biman alongwith the BAF Aircrew. Not only that, the Bangladeshi expatriates who wish to come back home from UK, BAF Welfare Trust also arranged their return home with the coordination of H. E. Ms. Saida Muna Tasneem, High Commissioner to the UK. Bangladesh Air Force is carrying out various activities following the policy published by the Government of Bangladesh to prevent coronavirus.
