BAF OBSERVES FORMER AIR CHIEF AIR VICE MARSHAL BASHAR’S MARTYRDOM ANNIVERSARY

Dhaka, 01 September:- Bangladesh Air Force observed 45th martyrdom anniversary of former Chief of Air Staff Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Khademul Bashar, Bir Uttam and Squadron Leader Mofijul Haque on Wednesday (01-09-2021) with due solemnity. Air Vice Marshal Bashar possesses the dignity for commanding the 6th sector during liberation war of Bangladesh. Bangladesh Air Force remembers this freedom fighter for his glorious contribution in achieving independence and building of Bangladesah Air Force with due respect and honour. This brave pilot was martyred on 01 September 1976 in a tragic air crash. Mentionable that Squadron Leader Mofijul Haque was also martyred in the same air crash.

 

On this occasion, doa mahfil was arranged in compliance with all the health regulations related to COVID-19 as directed by the Government at the central mosques of all BAF Bases and Units. A special munajat was also offered seeking divine blessings for salvation of the departed souls and for the continued peace and prosperity of the country.

 

Senior BAF officers, Airmen and civilians were present in the doa mahfil. Besides, BAF Base Bangabandhu organized doa and fatiha at the graveyards of the martyrdom.
