BANGLADESH AIR FORCE AND US PACIFIC AIR FORCE   JOINT EXERCISE CONCLUDES

Dhaka, 06 February: A 06-day long combined exercise between Bangladesh  Air Force and Pacific Air Force, USA named “Exercise Cope South-2020” concluded here on Thursday (06-02-2020) at BAF Base Bangabandhu. 147 para commando members of Bangladesh Army led by Commander of para commando Brigade Brigadier General Md Muhsin Alam, NDC, psc, also took part in the exercise.

 

Two BAF C-130 transport aircraft and two US C-130 transport aircraft took part in the said exercise. Besides, enhancing humanitarian assistance capability during any natural disaster, the objective of the exercise is to ensure maximum utilization of BAF transport aircraft and develop interoperability between BAF and United States Air Force. It may be mentioned that this exercise includes assessment of the functional suitability of various equipments with sugg estion for future improvement, exchange of training and standardization of maintenance of transport aircraft.

 

A Total of  200 members of Bangladesh Armed Forces and 70 members of US Air force took part in the exercise.

 

Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations) of Bangladesh Air Force Air Vice Marshal M Abul Bashar, BBP, OSP, ndc, acsc, psc attended the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest. Director of Air Operations Air Commodore ATM Habibur Rahman, afwc, psc, also spoke on the occasion.

 

Among others, Brigadier General David Glenn Shoemaker, Chief of Staff, Headquarters Pacific Air Force, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii and other senior military and civil officials of US Embassy and PACAF including BAF participants and senior officers of all three services were present in the ceremony.
