Dhaka, July 27:- With the kind approval of Hon’ble Prime Minister of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, the rank of Chief of Air Staff has been elevated from Air Marshal to Air Chief Marshal. On Tuesday, 27-07-2021 Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan, BUP, nswc, fawc, psc was adorned with the rank badge of Air Chief Marshal by Chief of Army Staff General S M Shafiuddin Ahmed, OSP, ndu, psc and Acting Chief of Naval Staff Rear Admiral M Abu Ashraf, NBP, BSP, ncc, psc, BN in presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister at Ganabhaban. During this auspicious occasion many military and civil dignitaries were also present.
On arrival at Air Headquarters after adorning the rank badge, Chief of Air Staff was presented a guard of honour by a smartly turned out BAF Contingent. After inspecting the guard, Chief of Air Staff planted a sapling at Air Headquarters premises. There after, he took part in a special Munajat seeking peace and prosperity of the nation.
