GRADUATION DINNER OF NATIONAL DEFENCE COURSE AND ARMED FORCES WAR COURSE -2019 HELD

Dhaka, December 10, 2019 : Graduation Dinner of National Defence Course 2019 and Armed Forces War Course 2019 was held at Army Multipurpose Complex, Dhaka Cantonment on Tuesday (10-12-2019). Hon’ble Speaker of the National Parliament Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, emphasized on the role of NDC in building national cohesion to address development challenges in Bangladesh. She was speaking as the Chief Guest to the participants of the Graduation Dinner 2019.

 

As Chief Guest Hon’ble Speaker congratulated all course members of National Defence Course 2019 and Armed Forces War Course 2019 for successful completion of the course. Further-more she expressed her satisfaction at the high standard of education that is imparted at NDC. She emphasized on the need for greater synergy and integrity among all national forces, be it military or civil, for attaining much coveted goal of national development and security. She also reiterated Government’s continuous effort in developing the country to fulfill the desire of the people of Bangladesh and accomplish the Millennium Development Goals in future.

 

This year the National Defence Course comprises of twenty nine (29) Brigadier Generals from Bangladesh Army, three (03) Commodores and two (02) Captains from Bangladesh Navy, three (03) Air Commodore and two (02) Group Captains from Bangladesh Air Force. Beside Armed Forces Officers, one (02) Additional Secretaries, ten (10) Joint Secretaries from Administration and other cadres of Civil Services, one (01) Director General from Foreign Service and two (02) Deputy Inspector General from Bangladesh Police participated in the course. Thirty one (31) overseas course members from 16 friendly countries have also participated in National Defence Course 2019. That includes one (01) Colonel (Army) from China, One (01) Brigadier General (Army) from Egypt, one (01) Brigadier (Army), one (01) Commodore (Navy) and one (01) Air Commodore (Air Force) from India, one (01) Colonel (Army) from Indonesia, one (01) Staff Colonel (Navy), one (01) Staff Brigadier (Air Defence), one (01) Staff Brigadier (Air Force), one (01) Staff Colonel (Air Force) from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, two (02) Colonel (Army) from Kuwait, one (01) Brigadier General (Air Force) from Malaysia, one (01) Brigadier General (Army) from Nepal, five (05) Colonel (Army), one (01) Captain (Navy) and two (02) Group Captain (Air Force) from Nigeria, one (01) Group Captain (Air Force) each from Oman and Pakistan, one (01) Brigadier (Army), one (01) Commodore (Navy) and one (01) Air Commodore (Air Force) from Sri Lanka, one (01) Captain (Navy) from Tanzania, one (01) Lieutenant Colonel (Army) from United Kingdom, one (01) Colonel (Army) each from Mali and Niger.

 

 

This year the Armed Forces War Course comprised of twenty  six (26) Lieutenant Colonels from Bangladesh Army, one (01) Captain and five (05) Commanders from Bangladesh Navy and five (05) Group Captains and one (01) Wing Commander from Bangladesh Air Force.

 

 

Commandant, National Defence College, Lieutenant General Sheikh Mamun Khaled, SUP, rcds, psc, PhD congratulated the graduating members and expressed thanks to the faculty members and staff officers of the college for their relentless hard work in making the courses successful. The Commandant expressed profound gratitude to the Chief Guest. He conveyed his felicitation and gratitude to the Chief Guest for the special attention of the Government to NDC. Commandant also made special mention about the patronization and kind direction of Hon’ble PM (Who is also the Chairperson of the Governing Body of NDC) for the progress and development of National Defence College.

 

The Senior Course Members as representative of Military Services, Civil Services and Allied Countries of National Defence Course and Armed Forces War Course spoke on this occasion. They thanked the Commandant, faculty members, resource personnel and all staff officers of National Defence College for their continuous support and hard work to make both the courses successful.

 

Among others, Chiefs of three services, Professors of different universities, distinguished personalities, Defence Advisers/ Attaches of different countries in Bangladesh and high officials of Defence Forces attended the Graduation Dinner.
