PRESIDENT PARADE (SUMMER)-2022 HELD AT BAF ACADEMY

Jashore, June 02: The President Parade (Summer)-2022 marking the commissioning of 80 BAFA (Bangladesh Air Force Academy) Course and Direct Entry-2022 A of Bangladesh Air Force held at Jashore, BAF Academy parade ground on Thursday (02-06-2022). Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force Air Chief Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan, BBP, BUP, nswc, fawc, psc attended the ceremony as Chief Guest. He reviewed the smartly truned out parade and took salute at the impressive march past. Air Officer Commanding of BAF Base Birsreshto Matiur Rahman received the Chief Guest on his arrival. After reviewing the parade, he handed over trophies and flying badges among the graduating Officer Cadets.

 

Officer Cadet Md Zahir Uddin Babor, GD(P) was awarded with the coveted ‘Sword of Honour’ for his best all round performance, received ‘Birsreshto Matiur Rahman Trophy’ for his best performance in Flying Training and awarded ‘Commandants Trophy’ for his best performance in General service Training in No 80 BAFA Course. Officer Cadet Paromita Sharmin, ATC received ‘Chief of Air Staff Trophy’ for his best all round performance in No 80 BAFA Course (Ground Branch). In this Summer Semester No. 1 Squadron was adjudged as the Champion Squadron and was accorded Academy colour.

 

After handing over trophies and badges, the Chief of Air Staff delivered his valuable speech addressing the graduating cadets. At the very onset of his speech, COAS recalled the greatest Bengali of all time with deep respect. He mentioned that the Father of the Nation dreamed for a modern Air Foce and now Bangladesh Air Force has become more advanced and updated in operational aspect with the able guidance of Honourable Prime Minister of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh `Sheikh Hasina’. The Chief guest wished a successful career ahead for the newly commissioned officers and urged them for serving the motherland with reverence and professionalism. At the end he thanked all the personnel of BAF Academy and BAF Base Birsreshto Matiur Rahman to make this event a success.

 

A total of 30 Officer Cadets including 09 Female Officer Cadets were commissioned this time. Officer Cadet Academy Under Officer Md Zahir Uddin Babor, GD (P) commanded the parade. The parade was followed by a spectacular fly past of different aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force Academy. Among others, Senior Secretary of Ministry of Defence Golam Md Hasibul Alam and high civil and military officials, local dignitaries and guardians of the graduating Officer Cadets were present on the ceremony.
