TRANSPORT ASSISTANCE OF BANGLADESH AIR FORCE IN THE WAKE OF THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC

Dhaka, May 16:- A C-130B transport aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force left Dhaka for Maldives on Saturday (16-05-2020) with daily necessities as souvenir items and 11 Bangladeshi doctors serving in Maldives on emergency basis in this current situation created due to COVID-19 pandemic. The mission consisting of a 19 BAF Air Crew was led by Air Commodore M A Awal Hossain, GUP, ndc, awc, psc, GD(P) of Bangladesh Air Force. Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, BBP, OSP, ndu, psc provided necessary guidance to carry out the mission. Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations) Air Vice Marshal M Abul Bashar, BBP, OSP, ndc, acsc, psc was present on the occasion.

In compliance with the policies published by the Government, Bangladesh Armed Forces is conducting various activities under the direction of Honourable Prime Minister to prevent coronavirus. In line with this, a C-130B transport aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force transported daily necessities as souvenir items for Maldives and 11 Bangladeshi doctors serving in Maldives as a sign of friendship on behalf of the Government of Bangladesh.

Mentionable that those doctors were unable to return to their workplace in Maldives due to the global corona situation. During the global crisis period, Bangladesh has set a brilliant example of brotherhood by extending hands for Maldives with the help of BAF as a sign of mutual cooperation. It is expected that this assistance from Bangladesh will further strengthen the existing friendly relations between the two countries.
